It sounds like you have å difficult situation not being able to connect with your children. Because I have limited knowledge about your specific situation this response will be of a more general caracter.
If you do not have joint parental responsibility, you still have the right to information from school, nursery and health and social services. The other parent who has the parental responsibility must provide the other parent with infomation about the child if requested. But there are exceptions. For example information about the child can be refused if it can harm the child.
What you should do to communicate with your children is a difficult question, because it depends on the childrens age, your contact with the other parent, etc. But if you have an opportunity to make an agreement with the other parent about how your contact with the children can be, it may help you to have a more predictable contact and communication with them.
You can contact the Familiy Protection office in the region where the children live with their mother, if you need more specific advice and guidence.
